Anthony Morley, born in Ormskirk, turned professional in August 1972 before commencing his illustrious career with Aston Villa in June 1979 where he spent the best days of his footballing life.
Tony was an intrinsic part of the Villa side that won the League Championship in 1980-81 and the European Cup the year after against Bayern Munich. He made circa 170 appearances for Aston Villa and scored 34 goals in total and is remembered as one of Aston Villa's legends. Tony also added the European Super Cup winners medal to his honours after Villa beat Barcelona 3-1 over 2 legs.
Tony's qualities as a pacey winger also allowed him to play at International level where he won 6 caps for England
After retiring from his playing career and spending some time coaching, Tony has now affiliated himself with IFA as an Coaching Assessor / Head Scout to identify talented young players in an effort to further their careers with clubs within the Football League. Tony has also recognised that the opportunity to work alongside other legends and further talented young footballing careers within a Coaching / Assessing capacity via IFA is a direction which appeals strongly to him
